This trip was a 14 day tour and included not only Cusco and the Incan Trail, but also biking, kayaking on Lake Titicaca, rain forest hiking and lots of other things. Know that I am NOT a tour person….I really hate the idea of a fixed itinerary when traveling. However, there was literally no way to do the Inca Trail without being a part of a group. Even if you, as a solo traveler, got a reservation to hike the trail, you would be placed with a random group. No solo travel allowed. ![]()
So, we decided to do this tour and the company was wonderful. They took care of everything and the Inca Trail part was especially wonderful. I am very overweight and very slow. Therefore, I placed a huge kink in the logistics of the hike. However, they were flexible and patient…something, again, that is not normally found on the Inca Trail…which is very, very regimented!
Everything from the food to the guides and porters was wonderful and if I were to do it again, I would not hesitate to use ASA. Note-I could not find my original invoice, so the above price is actually as of now, January 2011.
If you have any questions about ASA or Peruvian travel, please feel free to contact me at traildames.com.
And I think EVERYONE should go to Peru!!
